Being able to come to South Korea and study at Busan University of Foreign Studies is an incredible experience. Due to the current situation I could only stay for one semester, but I hope I will have a chance to come back to BUFS again in the future. Thanks to the university for allowing me and the other exchange students to study in this beautiful city.

In the first period of my stay in Busan i found it difficult to adapt to the new environment. Even if I studied the Language for 1 year and a half in my country, communicating in real life is quite different so at first I could not express myself well. Moreover, I did not know how to go around and so it took me almost 2 months to feel comfortable. But now that I know the city of Busan better I enjoy visiting new places.
Regarding the university, I found out that professors are very good at explaining the lessons. They are always available when I have a questions and the classes are not difficult to understand. In addition, I feel my Korean skills have improved, in particular the speaking part because I have the chance to practice while talking to Korean people. Before coming to Korea I thought I really wanted to stay in Seoul, but now that I am in Busan I changed my mind because I really like the city and also the Busan University of Foreign Studies and if I have the chance in the future to come back in Korea for studying I would like to apply again for BUFS.
I think that 4 months are not enough to experience all aspects of living in Korea and attending the university here, so I just wish my Exchange program period was longer.

I am really enjoying my staying here at Busan University of Foreign Studies (BUFS) at first it was really hard to stay so far away from home my family and friends, but I started to feel comfortable in March/April. Not only I met new people thanks to the Italian Korean tandem class, but also with the tutoring program. All the lecturers were kind and willing to help you, I would have preferred more zoom classes or frontal, but I understand the struggles of organizing classes with the difficult situation we are facing.
Overall my staying here was really wonderful and I really wish I can come back as a student for my master degree here at BUFS.

I consider myself a very lucky person for I’ve had a chance to study this semester at such a great university as BUFS. Although it’s a pity I couldn’t meet in person almost none of the professors that have been teaching us all those both interesting and useful things, I still felt very happy to be one of their students. I really liked all the professors and feel very grateful to them; they are very kind and competent. I am also extremely grateful to all the staff for the help and guidance they provided us during the quarantine and this whole semester. Thank you for letting me experience studying in Korea at such a difficult time. It’s been the most special semester in my life.

"Studying at BUFS was an amazing experience that I would recommend to anybody. They really do their best to make their foreign students feel as comfortable as possible and the campus is really lively with a lot of animations quite regularly. Plus, there is a wide amount of classes to choose from and teachers are really great."

First of all, I was very well received by the university.
Whether it was for quarantine or for questions we had, we were always well helped. I was pleasantly surprised with the organization of the university which handles situations well, especially for the covid19 situation.
Moreover, regarding the courses, despite the current situation, we follow interesting courses and the teachers are really present for all possible questions. The campus also has all those needed for our convenience.

Speaking about spring semester in BUFS I should mention that despite the COVID-19 situation prerecorded videos and zoom classes helped to improve my level of Korean language. All the professors where kind and their explanation of material was very detailed. They were always ready to help. The study in BUFS during 2020-1 semester was very interesting, I met a lot of new people and gained great experience. After arriving in South Korea, we had to spend 14 days on quarantine. It was well organized and also a special program for students named Warm up Week was created during quarantine. After quarantine me and my friends while constant wearing masks visited some beaches and cultural places in Busan. And in July, when the situation with COVID-19 got a little better, I went for a two-day trip to Gyeongju city. During my study in Korea I made a lot of great memories and friends.

I am very thankful for the time I spent here, at Busan University of Foreign Studies! I enjoyed the classes, even if they were held online and I learned new things while making new friends. The professors are really nice and the homeworks are fun! I really enjoyed doing homeworks for the first time in my University life! Also, I discovered beautiful places in the surroundings while practicing social distance, of course! Everything is so pretty! I will miss studying here when I will return to Romania! Every moment I spent here was so precious and I am very happy that I had the opportunity to study here! Thank you! (Univ. of Bucharest, Romania)

Coming to study at BUFS was a big adventure. Because of the Covid 19 it was uncertain and sometimes very difficult. We couldn't really learn or improve our Korean level. But I think, the Tandem class is the most interesting program I have had at BUFS. I could meet very kind and amazing people and share about our respective countries. Finally it was a good experience and we leave with a lot of beautiful memories. (EMBA, France)

I'm already finishing my graduation in my home country, so somehow I had no expectations of what could happen coming to Korea. Many people could see this as a bad thing, but for me its not; because coming here expecting nothing I could appreciate every experience with an open heart and open mind. So I was able to see more clearly the real Korean society, how Korean students behave, the differences between my university system and BUFS system. And it's really interesting how different are the way college students behave at class and even how they use the campus. I could feel that young Koreans although smarts and with good grades, they still have a "school behavior", I couldn't get the feeling of academic students who joined the university because they are seeking for knowledge in a career they believe in it. And this is not a judgement, just an observation comparing the two environments. Although the current global situation, these past 5 months I had great experiences with Korean people and other foreigners.I'm glad to have chosen Busan as my target city, cause here I feel the most comfortable and safe. I definitely gonna come back to Busan someday. (Universidade de Sao, Brasil)

My name is Anastasia and im a student of Kiev National linguistic university. I came to BUFS as an exchange student for Autumn semester of 2019. I was really impressed by the hospitality and will to help me as a foreign student. I am fully satisfied with the study system and teaching staff of BUFS. Every student makes his own flexible schedule and it is a big advantage for students who want have a part time job. All classes are interactive and effective. There are many after-school activities which can help students to socialize and find new friends as well as develop their skills in various areas. Overall my experience as an exchange student in BUFS was great. (Kyiv National Linguistic University, Ukraine)
